About Peacham Vermont

Peacham Vermont is a town at Caledonia County and has an approximate population of 732 according to the 2010 census. Peacham Vermont covers 47.7 square miles with 46.6 square miles being land and 1.0 square miles is covered by water. The highest point in Peacham Vermont is the summit of Cow Hill, which is 2,566 feet high.

Peacham Vermont has a rich culture that the Peacham Historical Association has preserved since 1916, and hence, Peacham Historical Association has been able to publish several works on the archives of the town dating back to 1776. Peacham Vermont has a privately owned library that houses resources from 1810 to date. The library started as a rotation among the stores at its inception before a building was purchased in 1909 to host it. It went down to ashes on 1959 due to a fire accident but was rebuilt in 1960 and has in the same location. Peacham Vermont also hosts yearly Acoustic Music Festivals mostly I mid-August. This is besides other yearly activities such as Fall Foliage celebration and Traditional Tractor parade.

Peacham Vermont has some of the greatest attraction sites in the US including the Elkins Tavern, which is the oldest structure in the US, Peacham Corner Historic District, New Discover State Park, Ashbel Goodenough Blacksmith shop that operated in the 1800s and the Peacham Bog that covers 748 acres. Other points of interest in Peacham Vermont include the Civil War Soldiers Monument that features more names of the 42 men that died in the war, Peacham Observatory ruins near Lookout Mountain, and Cow Hill, which is the highest point of the town.
