About Madison Alabama

Madison Alabama is a city with rich historical roots. In 1818, the land was originally in Tennessee Valley in an area known as Memphis Territory, until John Cartwright settled in the area. He received a land grant, and called his land Madison Station. However, the area wasn't officially Madison Alabama until 1856 when Memphis and Charleston Railroad Company ran tracks through the area, and people began to buy land and property. By 1980, Madison Alabama had a population of 4,100. In 2012 the population was listed at a whopping 43,000. However, the city did not only continue to grow in population.

Madison Alabama has become a sweet spot in the state. The city by itself has one of the highest per capita incomes. Madison Alabama was also listed on the U.S News and World Reported "Top 10 Places to Grow Up" list. It was also named CNN Money's "Top 100 Best Places to Live." Madison Alabama has one of the greatest economies for a city separate from its state. Why is this? Because their values and ways of business never actually changed, only evolved.

In its earlier years, many shopkeepers came to Madison, Alabama for their fertile and plentiful land. It is pretty much the same today, except instead of blacksmith shops there are day spas. Madison Alabama's plethora of businesses elevates their economy tremendously because they are still small businesses, just as they were in 1856. The small businesses in Madison Alabama not only cater to residential job availability, but service availability for tourists in Madison Alabama.

If there is any reason to visit Madison Alabama, it is the homey and welcoming southern atmosphere that many other places begin to lack after years of existence. Not to mention their hospitable shop owners, and resident and tourist barrier breaking events!
